In an older RH release, I've had a case when i had to pass a mem=xxM parameter to LILO (or the kernel). the xx is just a little below what physical RAM I had. Could be a bad ram on my laptop, or RH was seeing more memory than it could actually use (I put like 2 or so megs below what I really had). Perhaps worth a try. jondz / e.pike > On the 1st day of December in the year 2002 you wrote: > > > Date: Sun, 01 Dec 2002 21:43:25 -0500 (EST) > > From: Mitch Maltenfort <mmalten@comcast.net> > > To: plug@lists.phillylinux.org > > Cc: cgw5@po.cwru.edu, Luke Schierer <luke@redjack.ninds.nih.gov> > > X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.2 required=10.0 > > tests=SPAM_PHRASE_00_01,USER_AGENT_PINE > > version=2.43 > > Subject: [PLUG] Laptop reboots -- Comcast or static or age? > > > > > > For the past week or so, I've had an annoying problem with my Linux > > laptop. > > > > The beast occasionally reboots.
