[PLUG] Mandrake 9.0 install problem...

I'm trying to install Mandrake 9.0 from CDROM on to an IBM ThinkPad X20
Laptop (600 MHz P III). It already has SuSE 8.0 which installed without
trouble.

The initial screen(s) show up fine but as soon as I go to select
something (anything) and boot I get the following:

> Loading alt0/all.rdz.................................
> Ready.
> Uncompressing Linux...
>
> crc error
>
> -- System Halted

A search of the Mandrake site (and Google for that matter) did not yield
a solution to this and I'm stumped. There is no BIOS setting for
anything that I could identify as remotely related to this error.
I saw some references to Western Digital hard drives but this is a CDROM
and an IBM drive so there is no correlation there.

Anybody here have any ideas?

Thanks.

Eric
