On a related note, I work for a non-profit technology assistance provider and we are looking to expand our consulting scope. That is, we are looking for consultants who would be willing to work as circuit riders for non-profits to help them keep up servers and maybe do some general tech support around the office. Most jobs would entail either a one-time server setup at some site office, or a handful of hours every so often (week or so) for general network maintenance at some site. We already have competent Windows 2000 guys who bill us at $50/hr and I don't know if there are Linux consultants out there willing to work for comparable numbers. The decision to hire belongs to our agencies, not us, but the availability of lower-cost network maintenance is often the tipping point when it comes to an agency deciding between a Windows or a Linux server in the office. Anyway, if you are a *nix admin kind of person who might enjoy working for non profits in the Philly area on a part-time/consulting basis and would be all right with rates below what the for-profit world probably pays, please send me a resume and a phone call and I'd love to make your name available to our agencies. Thanks!
