> Question 2: Is anyone serving streaming mp3's or ogg's successfully? > What software do you like for getting apache to serve them? I'm streaming via icecast/liveice, currently. Liveice will encode a stream, say, from input, and icecast does the streaming. I currently have a radio plugged in to my soundcard's input, so I can stream a local radio station to a friend a couple states away, who misses that station. It works pretty well for me, though liveice occassionally needs to be restarted, as it hangs every once in a while. I think this is different that what you want - I am guessing you want to stream pre-existing mp3s/oggs - but I think icecast will handle that, too. -kevin -- kevin mudrick // kevin@furhurts.com http://furhurts.com/kevin_gpg.asc _________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug
