I agree, but can the employer provide any proof to the contrary? Doesn't matter as much. Who can afford better lawyers? And who is more likely to take the offensive with them? Even if they can't prove it, if they think they have a chance of scaring you into backing off they just might. IANAL but I've seen them do some pretty aggressive things on behalf of their corporate keepers. Interestingly, Apple Computer would not exist today if HP hadn't granted a waive of their rights to the stuff that Wozniak was working on. This wasn't even in his spare time. But he asked for and got permission from them to go ahead (and the rest is history). You can hope that you come in under the radar of your employer, or you can do it above board and take the risk that they shoot you down. Both ways have their inherent risks but the former method has grave consequences if it goes sour. Chris Hedemark ..
