Re: [PLUG] sniffers/installation/Linux/obvious

Ethereal is on the RH 8.0 CDs. May not be the latest version, but it works.

ethereal-0.9.6-1
ethereal-gnome-0.9.6-1

Just "rpm -Uvh" them.

I know I am missing something obvious. I have successfully installed
Ethereal on my Windows box, but installation on Linux (RH8) remains
elusive. I have tried getting the source and then going the
"./configure" "make" "make install" route which ends in errors. I have
also tried rpm --install <name of rpm> and that has been with less
success. Can anyone tell me you have installed Ethereal successfully on
Linux, and if there are good directions somewhere? Thanks.
