Clearly, this isn't a Unicode issue. I just wanted to point out that,
according to a Linux Journal article, UTF-8 Unicode uses between one to
four bytes. UCS-2 Unicode uses two bytes, but it has extended
characters which require more than two bytes.

char (2 bytes) doesn't account for it.
