Redhat tends to favor Gnome to kde. That used to be true, but starting with 8.0 (and more recently 9) they have favored a freaky hybrid desktop called "Bluecurve" that isn't really strictly Gnome or KDE. They package them both and they look the same but Redhat doesn't do the best job of packaging kde and certainly not the best job of keeping up with new releases. (again, just my opinion).
