Sounds like your SMTP server's been periodically unreachable by the
PLUG mail server (which doesn't mean that it's either your fault or
mct's; could just be networking in between).

You can ask (any) SMTP server to deliver messages it has queued for
your right away by telneting to port 25 and issuing a ETRN command,
provided you've greeted it with an EHLO (rather than just an HELO).
Like so:

humbug:~% host -t mx lists.phillylinux.org
lists.phillylinux.org mail is handled (pri=10) by mailq.netisland.net
lists.phillylinux.org mail is handled (pri=0) by mail.netisland.net
