Using OpenBSD for something always intrigued me, so I might look into You can make OpenBSD really small, but a floppy is probably out of the question right now unless you go through a lot of pain to rip out the unnecessary bits like sendmail, apache & bind (it's not packaged modularly). CD-ROM is a possibility, however. A quick google search did return an OpenBSD router project, but it looks like at this point it is only an idea, or at least in only early development stages, and nothing is there. Not that digging up an old hard drive would be that much of an issue but.....
Anyway, do you have any recommendations for some good reading on how to set this up using OpenBSD 3.3?
The documentation for OpenBSD is wonderful. Just make sure to do your reading before asking anyone over there any questions; if you've done your homework and still need help they are very helpful but if you make someone else do your homework they can be pretty harsh about telling you to RTFM. I think if you play with pf (the OpenBSD firewall) and compare it to Linux's iptables, you'll quickly fall in love. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (Darwin) iEYEARECAAYFAj66Zp8ACgkQYPuF4Zq9lvby3QCfUJEghZuLg2M2VIBCkP7aiQ/S YcIAoOIKTF9JuPVhBBGLCYo1N8RKVhpo =+9jb -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug
