Some totally unrelated thoughts: Those of you who were mortally offended by Jeff's glossing of one-way functions, hashes, and message digests will no doubt be thrilled to know that I'll gloss at least slightly less in July. This came up over dinner: http://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/~agr/ If you go off and also read: http://eclipsed.net/~gr/April1.txt bear in mind that I knew far less about Postscript then than now and that I do know what's wrong in there. (If you don't know anything about Postscript, it doesn't matter much that there are some minor mistakes, because if you were to ever go off and play with it yourself, you'd figure out the details pretty promptly. The mistakes are mostly naming conventions, really, that don't affect any functionality.) And, finally, PGP stuff! - Those of you who want more than the photo-ID check should set about trading pseudo-random phrases. Anybody who wants this gets to explain it to the people they want it from. - In any case, for signing keys, please send a signed key to its owner. Please also send a copy of the signed key to Mike Leone <turgon@mike-leone.com> so that he can update the PLUG keyring (see http://www.phillylinux.org/keys/). Please do NOT send a signed key to key servers without the owner's prior permission[1] EVEN IF YOU GOT IT THERE. [1] Certain keyservers munge certain key types irreparably, making it very difficult for the key's owner to get the correct key published. -- gabriel rosenkoetter gr@eclipsed.net Attachment:
