[PLUG] programming crypto with openssl

Anyone programmed crypto with openssl? I need to write an AES
crypt/decrypt, and I'm finding the examples opaque and the docs terse.

I'm looking for some simple examples of implementing something like

    encrypt(char *buf, int length);
    decrypt(char *buf, int length);

It should be pretty similar for any openssl-supported cipher.
