Dave: I've had success with Mitel's SME 6000 server (AKA: e-smith - see www.e-smith.org) for just such applications. It's easy to setup and use, it's based on Red Hat, and it's free. One caveat: it uses console or web access only - no X GUI. That's a plus for a server of this type (IMHO). They have occasional updates for security (so get on their email list or check the web page regularly). Current version is 5.6 - update 4.
