Hi all. I know we do this once or twice a year but I wanted to get an
update since Im moving soon. Right now I have a cable modem but Im
looking at possibly getting DSL at my new house. I'de like a static
IP with decent speed. Reliability and decent customer service would
be nice, too :-) And... I don't want to get raked over the coal$ for
it all. I remember someone saying DCA.net was pretty good. Anyone
else have any recomendations? Verizon, perhaps?
Any and all opinions are welcome and incouraged. Thanks!!!
I've been a happy DCAnet (Verizon) customer since virtually day one
(1500x384).
(Day one = when Bell Atlantic first provided DSL service in the
Evergreen CO.)
Static IPs, Domain service, all that good stuff... not as cheap as
pure Verizon, but was only $10 more the last time I checked. (I don't
know that Verizon even offeres the 1500x384 "pro" service any more.)

I'm 1500x384 through DCA/Covad.
It's the little things that impress me. I bought a domain name and was
having all sorts of 'fun' pondering out a free DNS provider and their
configs, and I asked DCA if they could host it temporarily or at least
point me in the direction of a good howto. The reply email (about an
hour later) confirmed DCA was now doing my DNS. :) Not the question I
asked, exactly, but a very good answer. :)
Someday I'll get my DNS junk in-house in order, and then I'll take over,
but they've been just dandy so far. Makes it hard to get motivated. :)
