wow thanks for the info.  I'll make a note
of this and see what I can do with.

FYI I used to 
use the bell for loading compact flash
cards into the server (from the digital
camera) -- got tired
of uploading thru programs so now i'm completely
headless -- previously thru a pcmcia
slot and now thru a usb cf reader
and a serial pushbutton/LED.  I just
need some speaker sounds for audio
feedback....
