The reason I left teaching in the public school system is because parents like yours are the exception now and not the rule. I got sick and tired of the school system in general and the teacher in particular having to absolve parents of their responsibilities. It is the school's responsibility to teach children, not to feed, clothe, and otherwise to fufill the basic set of needs that the parents who chose to have them should be supplying. Teachers are responsible for reinforcing good behavior, not being the first to tell some feral brat that no, you should not try to beat the crap out of another student just because they looked at you funny. Out of the 34 kids in my class my last year of teaching, more than 20 of them fit that category. I had good classroom control, but I spent more time keeping the peace than getting across subject matter. --- Ian Reinhart Geiser <geiseri@yahoo.com> wrote: *gasp* what parents who have a roll in their kids lives! and yes i did grow up in america :) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
