What does the following command return??

jonscomputer:~> ldd `which konqueror`

I believe that some installations of Konqueror do not have SSL support
built in. This is the case on Debian, where there are packages for
konqueror and konqueror-ssl (in case you want to be able to access https
links). If the konqueror binary is not linked to libssl, this is a good
indication that you are having this problem and should be looking for
the RedHat equivalent to Debian's konqueror-ssl package.
