[PLUG] DVD Backups

I was thinking of getting a DVD burner to backup my cinema DVDs. Is there any software in Linux that can do it? I noticed that we can currently only buy 4.7GB DVD media, but the cinmea DVDs are around 7 to 8 gigs. Is there a way to split this into 2 DVD-R, and still play in my set-top DVD player?
