Are you using GRUB or LILO? In GRUB I just hit "e" to edit the menu entry, "e" again to change the kernel command temporarily. Before: kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20-20.9 ro root=LABEL=/ After: kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20-20.9 ro root=LABEL=/ 1 In LILO I used to do "linux 1" to boot into single user mode, A.K.A., "runlevel 1". _________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.netisland.net/mailman/listinfo/plug
