Every Sun box in my collection (which isn't what it used to be, but is still more than any sane person should have) has ethernet right on the system board. The SPARCstations are old enough that the built in ethernet is only 10Mbps but can be upgraded with an SBus "Happy Meal" card (hme). You can get those pretty cheaply on eBay. The hard disks on these are SCA SCSI which are somewhat easy to find. If you do add a second hard disk you'll need to find a Sun drive tray that is made for the SS5. SPARCstation 5 is very old but a worthwhile way to get into SPARC hardware if you can get it for a good price. There are several good OS options for it, with maybe 2 good Linux distros, 2 BSD's and even the latest version of Solaris working pretty well on the advertised configuration. --Magnus ___________________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group -- http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion -- http://lists.phillylinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
