Hey Chris:

There are, as far as I remember, 4 flavors of  P4 for Desktop.  

1) Is the init P4, which lacks cache and performance.  It typically runs 
at speeds up to 550 - 600 MHzs.

2) Is the "Coopermine" version which ran of speeds 600/633 MHz up to 1.2 
GHz.

3) Is the version which ran from 1.0 GHz through 2.80. (Can't remember 
the name)

4) Is the Xenon based P4 with speeds from 2.6 GHz and up.
