Re: [PLUG] DCMA and Linux Journal

For those who don't have a subscription to LJ ($25/year for a good mag) the letter writer refers to the court decision to bock 2600.com from linking to the DeCSS code and wonders what would happen if a print magazine were to publish a similar url.

The editor replies by saying it would be interesting to see a magazine print the url and then prints a link which looks to be the DeCSS code.

The above is a paraphrase of what I remember from reading it last night so the details might be off but the gist is there.

Pretty amusing and I have to respect LJ a little bit more because of it.

Check out page six of the March 2004 Linux Journal and a letter titled "Will DCMA Lawyers Burn Books?". That's about all I am comfortable saying in electronic form. :|
