Why set it up in 3-4 places when you can have it handled in one? "Oops I'm changing the IP address of the fileserver. Darn I have to change it on all these other machines..." Keep it simple.

I was following along until I read this. There are only 2 windows computers 1-2 Linux computers. I know where to set up the WINS configuration in the two Windows computers. If I was going to set it up in only one place to ¨keep it simple¨, where would that be?
