Really? I haven't noticed that problem at all. I've had an account for
over a month and the only spam I get on it is through unmoderated
debian lists. There's nothing, absolutely nothing, that was addressed directly
to me.

<Shrug> I'm not sure why, but I'm getting a huge amount of it, more than a screenful's worth of messages headers per day (two passes through to delete it all). I haven't used my gmail address anywhere on line and I use a different browser for gmail than I use for general browsing. The filtering is fairly good, but misses about five to ten spams a day which show up in my inbox.

Verizon has BrightMail filtering and I set that to delete spam so I could be getting a lot of spam on this address and just not picking it up.
