Maybe the idea is to get them screened and ready for the beginning of next
year; it's hard to get hired (for anything other than seasonal work) in the 
winter because employers have to do end-of-year tax processing/reporting and
that's expensive if you outsource it to a CPA.

Hopefully things will open up now that Summer/Labor day has passed...
