Well, I rarely work with PERL, I can do some basic coding (not to be
confused with BASIC coding), but I haven't gotten really into the
more unique aspects of perl.
I've not worked with PYTHON, so I don't know if that's a language
that may have merit for this type of program. Considering that rdiff-backup
is written in PYTHON, makes me believe it's a possibility.
Does PYTHON have a large a module/program repository as CPAN?

only some of the fields are encrypted, most of which I don't use. If I D-click
on the ACT! .dbf file, excel opens it and reads the majority of it, which for
now would be good. Then I just save as .csv format
I haven't tried yet to get perl to read the .dbf, but had "heard" it didn't.
Course that could be wrong. For the few per week I get, it hasn't been worth
exploring. If someone else already explored and was successful, then it might
be worth it.
In hind sight...Maybe I will give it try later this month, since Excel reads it OK.
I'm guessing one the DBI:: should read it as well.
