Cool, sounds like you're all set then.  Go ahead and start using
/dev/usb/ttyUSB0 as you would any other Linux serial device.

That depends -- what are you planning on doing with the serial port once
you've configured it?  Are you trying to console into a server or router,
or something along those lines?  If so, you'll probably want to install
minicom, an ncurses-based menu driven terminal program.
