[PLUG] File system problem

I am not sure what information to include here.  I am having problems 
viewing certain directories, mostly /home/me/Documents & 
/home/me/Desktop.  I am also having problems mounting some Samba shares 
for the same reason as the mount points take so long to access that 
smbmount times out with the error that the mount points are 
unavailable.  (They are there.)  I unmounted the partition and did an 
fsck -f & fsck -c, but the problem persists.

This is a new problem that seems to have appeared out of nowhere.
