[PLUG] IDE PCI cards Linux support?

I am planning to build a storage server for home with 5 IDE drives in
it. I am open to either using a PCI RAID card or software RAID. Question
is, how do I connect 6 IDE devices (incl DVDWriter) to the machine?

Anyone have experience with the HighPoint Rocket 100/133 PCI IDE card
under Linux? Or the RocketRaid cards? Any other good Linux experiences
with PCI IDE cards? I would be particularly interested in PCI cards with
good kernel support from kernel.org kernels and not vendor supplied
drivers..

Thanks
Warwick
