I have the MSI K8T800 and the MSI K8N mobos and find that everything is well supported (though I only use single SATA HDDs, not SATA RAID of any kind ---but I do recall people on the gentoo forums having this stuff working). I've actually switched back to running 32-bit Gentoo on these boxes, however, b/c at the time I was running 64-bit there were a lot of apps that I make regular use of that weren't available. Much of that software was reported as working by a lot of people, but much of it required a bit more hacking than I was willing to undertake, so I decided to go for the broader availabilty of software instead of the pure 64-bit power. I'll probably go back to 64-bit in a few months, but in the meantime the boxes perform terrifically in 32-bit mode. I've been told that 32-bit Linux on 64-bit arch. is still faster than the equivalent 32-bit processors, but have not done any personal benchmarking to verify this. Good luck with whichever decision you make.
