[PLUG] spamassassin & pop3 mail (Thunderbird)

I do not host a mail server and get my mail directly from my ISP's POP3 servers. Nonetheless, I was able to use spamassassin with kmail and evolution by using the "pipe through command" filtering and the spamc program.

I am using Mozilla Thunderbird these days and it doesn't have a "pipe through command" filter.

I found this page -- http://robert.accettura.com/archives/2003/12/18/using-spamassassin-and-mozilla -- with a Google search, but it assumes the spamassassin filtering is taking place on the mail server.

Has anyone with my setup integrated spamassassin with Thunderbird or Mozilla Mail? Any pointers to a more appropriate FAQ?
