What are any of you using these days for Palm syncing? I was doing fine when I had Red Hat 7.3 syncing with my Palm IIIc (serial port) via the pilot-link conduits, and using jpilot on the desktop. Lately, I've been using Ubuntu on the desktop and have been trying to sync my USB Clie and haven't been satisfied with the results. Gnome-pilot comes pre-installed with conduits to Evolution. IMO, Evolution is a pig. As an Outlook substitute, it includes many of outlook's annoyances as well as its functionality. It was munging my addresses and I don't know if it was gnome-pilot or the Evolution conduits to blame. Fortunately, I have good back ups on the Clie's memory stick. I installed pilot-link, disabled gnome-pilot, and it sort of works, but the handheld seems pick a different USB port each sync and the sync never seems to complete without a loss of connection. A complaint about jpilot is that I have to have the full app running to use the alarms or access the data. (As Evolution is Ubuntu's default PIM and email program, you can put little look up apps for appointments and addresses in the panel) Is anyone using the Kpilot conduits with Kontact? What are your experiences? Any other recommendations? -- _______________________________________ Art Alexion Arthur S.
