[PLUG] mta's and fc4

Hello,

I recently set up a dell 2450 (one cpu) with Fedora 4. It's intended use is replacement of my... redhat 6.2... mailserver. Yea, I know, but it's never been hacked ;-)

So I set up the box and everything seemed to work fine, but then I realized we were having problems sending mail. Initially the box was set up with Sendmail 8.13.

The problem only appears when users who are connected from pc's in the office (using netscape) attempt to send an email with an attachment. Receiving email is fine, sending small emails is fine, but sending an attachment is painfully slow. It can take hours to send a 1 meg email.

I searched far and wide for a solution and couldn't seem to find one. Finally I gave up and dumped Sendmail for Postfix. Unfortunately the problem remained, so I'm back to sendmail.

My old box is still up and if I point netscape to it as the outbound smtp it still works as usual, fast as hell.

What have I done wrong?

ps. I was going to hire Dan Widyono to fix it but he didn't return my email. What's up with that Dan? :)
