That's important.  I live in an area where PECO goes out a lot, but the phone
always works.  I have yet to lose phone service.  PECO has a system where the
more calls they get over an outage, the higher priority it is assigned.

I guess it's worth mentioning that most people have cell phones now. The wired home phone doesn't have the same importance now as it did in
the past, but I still prefer the sounds quality.
