-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 VMware can indeed make use of a physical partition as a virtual machine hard drive. And it is certainly possible to convert a physical XP install to a virtual XP install, though it is difficult and time consuming (or at least it was for me). I got it working, though it wasn't necessarily according to the how to that I followed (http://diaryproducts.net/about/vmware/migrate_windows_xp_2000_to_vmware) and I still ended up reinstalling XP, and calling Microsoft for reauthorization.
