Re: [PLUG] linux compatible MP3 players?

That's Cowon, not Cowan. Sorry.

One of my sons has a Cowan iAudio. With a USB cable (included), it
connects to a Linux PC and looks like a regular USB hard drive to
Linux. He has played Ogg, MP3, WAV on it, and it supposedly also
supports FLAC, WMA and ASF. It also plays MPEG-4 video, and it
supposedly also supports XviD. It has an FM tuner (not great), voice
recorder and line-in recorder, and I have experimented with using it
as a digitizer to get some of my vinyl LPs digitized (works, but not
great). The UI is not as intuitive as I would have liked, but it
works and is not hard to master.

Sound quality is decent as far as I am concerned, and he has been very
happy with it (he's quite picky about such things).

I think it comes in 20GB and 30GB versions.
