I've thought of that. I've tried setting different TERMs after opening screen (whose default $TERM=screen), but to no avail: Export TERM=vt100 http://pics.livejournal.com/dottey/pic/000gkew8 Export TERM=xterm (which is the default for my Putty sessions) http://pics.livejournal.com/dottey/pic/000gpgx6 Export TERM=ascii causes an error when I run yast /sbin/yast: line 233: 10196 Aborted $ybindir/y2base menu ncurses $NCTHREADS So evidently ncurses doesn't like "ascii"... -----Original Message----- From: plug-bounces@lists.phillylinux.org [mailto:plug-bounces@lists.phillylinux.org] On Behalf Of George Gallen Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2006 10:15 AM To: Philadelphia Linux User's Group Discussion List Subject: RE: [PLUG] Line drawing characters limitation in screen?` can you add "TERM=vt100" into your login profile, or do you need TERM=ascii for ascii emulation (if ascii is a termtype) George > -----Original Message----- > From: plug-bounces@lists.phillylinux.org > [mailto:plug-bounces@lists.phillylinux.org]On Behalf Of Ottey, Daniel > William > Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2006 9:28 AM > To: plug@lists.phillylinux.org > Subject: [PLUG] Line drawing characters limitation in screen?` > > > I often use "screen" in Linux to help keep my ssh sessions continuous > (even when my putty window closes, for example).
