Army Signal Command (USANETCOM/9th ASC) , Organizational Element: 2nd Signal
Center / Continental United States (CONUS) Theater Network Operations and
Security Center (C-TNOSC)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Advises management of the Systems Management Division on
complex technical issues on daily basis. Primary oversight responsibility
for the operations of over 250 UNIX servers. Supports the installation
support module systems. Responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and
operations of the U.S. Army Terminal Server Access Controller Systems
(TSACS). TSACS is the official US Army dial in networking system supporting
approximately 80,000 users. Responsible for the configuration, maintenance,
and operation of the US Army Domain Name Server (DNS) consisting of
approximately 50 servers. Responsible for the configuration aspects of an
EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) environment. Requires familiarity with
various storage connection technologies to include fiber channel iSCSI, and
Network Attached Storage (NAS). A successful Systems Engineer must be able
to analyze the current business process and work with customers to determine
requirements, delivering timely solutions IAW Security Policies and
Procedures, as well as Army regulations. 

Qualities and Skills:
Highly motivated, self starter, dedicated team member with primary objective
of mission accomplishment.
Sound communication skills to assist users in the determination of
requirements.
Ability to leverage technical background and experience to identify
solutions.
Participate in UNIX server discussions for project resolution.
Prioritize tasks to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.

Requirements/Desired background experience include: 
*	This position requires 4+ years experience working with computer
networks, firewalls and security routers. 
*	Extensive knowledge in applications systems: (HP-UX, Sun Solaris,
Perl/Shell scripting). 
*	Working knowledge of specific application systems: (SQL experience
with Informix environment, Netscape Web server configuration and maintenance
and RADIUS Authentication). 
*	Additional skills in applications: (TACACS+ Authentication).
