[PLUG] Wireless and Ethernet sharing an IP?

Someone just said that on Mac OS X, if you assign the wireless and
ethernet devices the same IP address, you can switch connectivity e.g.
in the middle of a download and it will just carry on (based on
priorities in the routing table and so on). I wonder if Linux has any
features like that and whether it needs support e.g. in your switch or
router to allow two devices on the same network to have the same IP
address but only use whichever one the laptop decides has priority at
the moment... Anyone know more?

Thanks,
      Aaron
