If you can't figure out how to do it with mencoder, soundkonverter, Perl Audio 
Converter or any of the others mentioned, try running dbPowerAmp Music 
Converter via wine.  It's freeware, but not OS.  I have never tried using it 
under wine.  Download the codecs you need.
