Dear DCANet Customer,

This email is to alert you to network maintenance required for
compliance with the FCC's May 3, 2006 Second Report, Memorandum
Opinion and Order extending CALEA regulatory requirements to all
facilities based Internet service providers and interconnected VoIP
providers. DCANet engineers will be performing software updates on
DCANet's core routing and aggregration platforms.
[snip]

Yeah, I got that too.

I gotta say, at least DCANet is telling us exactly what is happening.
Reading between the lines, I can also see that encryption might be a
good idea for any VoIP traffic coming from my machine.

I wonder how many other ISPs (Verizon, etc.) have implemented systems
like this but failed to inform their customers.
