"It depends"(tm).
We're not a big company. We don't have an HR
department establishing salary guidelines for positions. We're a small, but
growing company, and quite honestly the salary is negotiable, and quite likely
to be 'commensurate with experience'. We can use someone relatively junior
($30-40K) and we can also use someone more senior, at a higher salary
bracket, depending upon what that person brings to the table. Part of the value
we offer our customers is expert, well-trained geeks (I'm one of them) that kick
butt with FOSS - it's not hard to make a case for paying good money for good
talent internally, it's just sometimes a bit harder to find that money
;-)
If you're interested in what we do, send me a
resume and salary expectations, and even if we can't afford you now we
might be able to in the coming months since we're seeing steady
growth!

it doesn't pay much - Tweak the job description - "Engineer" sounds
too much like a programmer, which many people are not
