I was asking because, this sounds like a very interesting opportunity for "young people".
This opportunity sounds very tempting for a college student or a 'fresher'. I hope you find a right candidate ,your company experiences continuous growth and enjoy prosperity.
Good Luck!

"It depends"(tm).
We're not a big company. We don't have an HR
department establishing salary guidelines for positions. We're a small, but
growing company, and quite honestly the salary is negotiable, and quite likely
to be 'commensurate with experience'. We can use someone relatively junior
($30-40K) and we can also use someone more senior, at a higher salary
bracket, depending upon what that person brings to the table. Part of the value
we offer our customers is expert, well-trained geeks (I'm one of them) that kick
butt with FOSS - it's not hard to make a case for paying good money for good
talent internally, it's just sometimes a bit harder to find that money
;-)
If you're interested in what we do, send me a
resume and salary expectations, and even if we can't afford you now we
might be able to in the coming months since we're seeing steady
growth!

Folks,
For
the sake of the archives, here's a recap of the helpful information I've
learned both on and off-list, in no particular order.
-
TekSystems (http://www.teksystems.com/) is a good
recruiting company for tech - Try contacting local Universities (we
had actually done this using NACELink - posted to all local ones) -
Include the salary in the job description - otherwise people will think
it doesn't pay much - Tweak the job description - "Engineer" sounds
too much like a programmer, which many people are not
Thanks to
all who took the time to reply! A few people even delurked and expressed
interest in the position
;-)
