Are you suggesting I install win-ff via wine? Would that have any advantage
over the pre-wine-hacked IE packages out there?

Would VMware be a better solution? Or should I just set up the laptop as dual
boot?

As to the dual boot, I haven't done this in a long time. Used to be you'd
have to install windows first so that it wouldn't clobber the mbr, and then
install Linux. Is that still the case? Or can I install on a new partition
without damaging the Linux installation these days?
