Description:

These positions will be responsible for the installation/installation assistance and configurations of the layered products and CLIENT applications for our customers. The positions will maintain the supported versioning matrix for various layered products and operating systems, maintenance patches, supported operating systems and the layered products necessary to deliver CLIENT's Integrated Medical Management (IMM) offerings. These positions will also be developing the necessary system processes to certify new layered products, work with vendors to resolve version or performance issues and report on status.

The specialists will work under general direction with a high degree of latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. These positions will interface with the Infrastructure department, Development, Sales department, and act as the liaison to the Technical Support department. This position will also assist in the research of technology trends and directions, analyzing the organizational use of information technology as it pertains to our customer environments to identify opportunities to support key business objectives.

Duties and Functions:

* Create environments for new installations of IMM, which involve various server technologies.

* Responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and tuning of application servers and web servers. Run necessary system backups.

* Provide technical support on application server-related and web applications issues.

* Deploy and maintain IMM offerings within the ASP (Application Service Provider)

* Investigate embedded application technologies to further our offerings and contain costs.

* Update application security patches and fixes as they become available and certification of applications on new hardware platforms.

· Institute a hardening process for all new applications/hardware and work with the Network Specialist to isolate new hardware until it is secured.

· Assist in Unix/Solaris development/maintenance of systems.

· Participate in system architecture studies of new and existing systems.

· Provide technical support to application developers for the development environment.

· Travel (20%) to customer sites during select upgrades/installs and perform advanced, on the fly troubleshooting.

· Position requires weekly after-hours support.

· Work within company guidelines.

Other desired requirements common to all positions:

· 2 - 4 + yrs. Proven experience in IT architecture methodologies.

· B.S. in Computer Science or related field.

· Requires a strong understanding of Web architecture and Java programming principles

· Proficient in securing E-commerce applications.

· Good technical, consultative, analytical, communication and problem solving skills.

· Project management experience preferred.
