is there any way to take an off-the-shelf home intercom system (something like these for instance: http://www.ambientweather.com/dbwhi4cupg.html ) and interface it with a server?
in other words, add digital functionality in?

i'd IMAGINE it'd get into asterisk but what about interfacing with that network with, say, a VoIP tunnel?

sorry if this makes no sense. maybe i can put together a diagram...
