also, i believe the simpleshare NAS is linux-based...i'm not sure, however, if it's even got access enabled to it via ssh...it might be on telnet, and you can enable ssh etc. from there. it's still a good price.

to be honest, i think that every NAS that has a decent amount of functionality and features are *nix-based (and most commonly either BSD or Linux as it keeps production cost down due to the licensing)
