Its cross platform out o the box (via VLC). No need to have extra PCI slots and easily lets you build a quiet HTPC. As a side note, someone (can't remember his name, but he presented MythTV+Ubuntu at the ubuntu conference) mentioned about talking with Silicondust for a volume discount.
