So a while back I bought parts for a server, but didn't actually get around to building it for quite some time... After assembling it, I notice that there's something clearly wrong with the hardware, as it doesn't appear even to reach the BIOS. After removing almost everything save the CPU and power supply, I've figured it's either the CPU or the motherboard. I don't actually know, though, and everything is well out of warranty. I need to replace one of them, but I'm not sure which one, and I really don't want to have to buy both if I can help it. So my plea: Does anyone have (or know someone who has) a socket-F Opteron that they would be willing to lend me to help me troubleshoot this? It would really help me no end. %!PS: In case you aren't sure whether you're comfortable lending someone an expensive CPU, please see the attached picture. Attachment:
