there are a couple ways to this.. 1. use a mail client such as thunderbird, connect, download all of 'em (ugh..that'd take forever). boom. backup. 2. gmail's been hacked into a mountable filesystem, but i've only seen it one way- from the local system to your gmail account, not the other way around. i'd imagine it's possible though. try e-mailing someone from google (shouldn't be too hard to find an addy); if they don't have it, the developers would jump all OVER that idea.
